Additional information

This work on regularization of reconstructed images, using dual-tree wavelets and Gaussian-scale-mixture statistical models, has been an important precursor to further projects on image deconvolution in Prof. Kingsbury's group by researchers Gomersall, Zhang, Roberts and Zhang. This work is ongoing for a variety of imaging problems. Dr Gomersall received an EPSRC Knowledge Transfer Secondment grant to pursue the commercial development of deconvolution algorithms. He started a company, Smart Acoustics. He is working with a Californian ultrasound equipment manufacturer, integrating the technology into their systems. Dr Gomersall's company has received consultancy funding for expertise directly derived from his academic research (ID_in_audit_file@smartacoustics.co.uk).
