Art Hughes was the initiator of and principle investigator for this project: he conceived the idea of bringing the poetry of Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill to a worldwide francophone audience, brought together and led the team of Celtic scholars who acted as translators and oversaw all aspects of the output. He provided renditions from the original Irish into English and French which the ultimate French translations are based upon (cmp. note on p. 27), wrote the introduction which comprises a critical assessment of the poetry of Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill and wrote and compiled all the notes contained in the volume.
