Additional information

This paper presents a flexible methodology for assessing communication technologies for distributed control strategies in a Smart Grid. For example, communications requirements from sensor and agent technology, and specific control command requirements, can be easily specified. As one consequence of this work, we are at present co-leading the Grid Simulator subgroup in the Open Smart Energy Systems (SES) Experience Labs Activity (coordinator Dr. Bernhard Schätz, fortiss GmbH). This activity is funded by the SES Action Line of the EIT ICT Labs Knowledge and Innovation Communities where we also collaborate amongst others with TU-Berlin and Siemens.
