Additional information

A unique dynamic model of the whole (solvent-based) post-combustion CO2 capture process has been developed, with both steady state and dynamic validation of the whole model being performed for the first time. Through analysis of the effect of intercooling in the absorber and inlet flue gas moisture content, the model demonstrates that the solvent based CO2 capture process is mass transfer limited. This work resulted from a collaboration between Wang, PSE Ltd and University of Texas at Austin. The model has already been used by PSE Ltd in a project (http://www.psenterprise.com/power/ccs/overview.html) funded by ETI (Dr Adekola Lawal a.lawal@psenterprise.com).
