Significance of output:
The mathematical model proposed in this paper is key to understanding the complex interaction between the cell engineering and chemical reactions found in flow batteries. There are more than 600 papers relating to the vanadium flow battery (www.scifinder.cas.org, accessed 10/05/12) however this paper is the first model to accurately reproduce experimental data.
