Additional information

This paper describes the work initiated from a FR6 project initialled in 2005 (APROSYS) and develops the underlying principles on which novel egg box structures are proposed for pedestrian safety. The work uses the industrial collaboration of CELLBOND ltd (UK) to establish optimum profile shapes for energy absorption scenarios related to vehicle impact. It also supports the group’s collaboration with Australian Vehicle safety rollover programmes initialled in 2011 which includes both industry and universities in Europe and Australia. The work as forms part of PhD thesis of Nowpada 2013. (Supervised by Myler )
