Additional information

This paper involves the development of a three-dimensional single-layer bandage for treating venous leg ulcers. The research, funded by EPSRC, outcomes would offer a huge financial benefit to NHS and other healthcare sectors as the 3D single-layer bandage replaces the existing four layer bandage regime, a positive economic impact. The research is considered to be revolutionary because currently no 3D single-layer bandage has been listed in the ‘Drug Tariff’ for use in the UK. Baltex, UK has produced the commercial product and currently clinical trials are underway by BS&N in USA. Rajendran led the project and interpreted the analytical data.
