Additional information

Electrospun PVA has much potential as a scaffolding material, however they quickly disintegrates. In this work BTCA has for the first been used to cross link PVA. This pioneering study has shown the range of possibilities and its application after crosslinking. Using a purposely built electrospinng machine at Bolton, I directed and supervised a visiting scholar from Ege University, Turkey to conduct the research which has also helped cross border fertilisation of knowledge. Furthermore, as a result of this pioneering work a new UNIDO sponsored research programme investigating the effect of PVA molecular weight using BTCA has been initiated.
