Additional information

This research project led by Anand was a part of a major grant in Durability of Geotextiles (DoG) and mathematical modelling of geosynthetic nonwoven fabrics and geogrid from DTI Technical Textiles Initiative, which included three industrial partners based in the U.K. The main objective of the research was to predict the dimensional and mechanical properties of needle punched nonwoven structures by using Artificial Neural Network (ANN) technique. The models generated were also validated through experimentation at Geofabrics Ltd; U.K. for their production qualities. The models developed are being commercially used by all three industrial sponsoring companies.
