Additional information

This unique experiment is the latest in a series of techniques, developed by Price since the 1980’s, to provide understanding of the fundamental science of thermal and flammability behaviour of polymers. The need for this technique resulted from a series of discussions with the late Prof. Lewin, a pioneer in the science of the flame retardant behaviour. The work presented in international conferences has attracted much interest from the other leading groups in Europe, the USA and elsewhere. Our studies are continuing. Price had the major input in the experimental design, advising on analysis of results and writing the paper.
