<22>The paper opened up a new research area by presenting the first framework to successfully combine statistical natural language semantics with formal structural semantics. The technology used was derived from that developed for quantum protocols by Abramsky-Coecke (LICS04). The significance of the work was recognised in a tweet from Fernando Pereira (Research Director at Google and key potential beneficiary, and a story on the New Scientist cover (http://www.newscientist.com/issue/2790).
