Additional information

This paper presents an analysis of site-diversity techniques, a method able to combat the effects of rain attenuation on microwave satellite signals. This paper presents the first analysis of real data at the Ka-frequency band. This is increasingly important as satellite operators are now moving to higher Ka-band frequencies. This paper has highlighted that the empirical model of the ITU-R does not correctly estimate diversity gain. Hodges was a supervised PhD student.
