Additional information

A new concept for a four-way differential power combiner is presented in this paper. The combiner exhibits a world record low insertion loss of 1.25 dB in the 81-86 GHz E-band which is the base technology for next generation wireless back haul systems. A complete circuit that includes two-stage cascode driver and power amplifier cells was designed and realized in advanced SiGe IC technology. Thian then a Marie Curie Fellow was seconded to Infineon Technologies Austria AG in order to conduct this work. Infineon (Senior Director Systems Engineering).
