Double-weighted statement

Case for double-weighting: The first two parts of the book consider Putnam's model-theoretic arguments, and three failed attempts to deal with them. The third part explores semantic arguments against scepticism, including Putnam's brain-in-vat argument. The fourth part defends the coherence of a doctrine like conceptual relativity, against detractors from Davidson to the present day. The book therefore contains state-of-the-art treatments of three topics, each of which has generated a vast body of literature.
