This paper reports a numerical wave tank, used to provide engineering estimates of wave run-up and coastal defence overtopping. The numerical model generated led to a 6-month knowledge transfer secondment on “Wave Overtopping and Flooding – With Applications to Extreme Storm and Tsunami Events” at HR Wallingford Ltd, 2011-12 (Ian Townend) and a follow-up EPSRC grant EP/K024108/1 of £466k awarded to Taylor.
