Additional information

This paper proposes a novel CCS-ready hub and suggests that CO2 capture readiness should be implemented at the regional planning level. This finding has been adopted in Guangdong's Five Year Low Carbon Plan www. zwgk.gd.gov.cn/006939748/201208/t20120828_341198.html - in Chinese. Based on this research, the Pearl River Delta CCS-ready hub in Guangdong will be developed - includes Shenzhen Energy 4x1 GW coal plant (Guiqing Feng); Guangdong Yuedian Huizhou Pinghai 2x1 GW new coal plant (Yongquan Yuan); and CNOOC Huizhou phase II 10 Mt refinery (Nong Xing). Brazil is developing its “CCS Ready Hub” based on the recommendations, (DoI: 10.1016/j.ijggc.2012.10.005). (Industrial emails available).
