Efficient Simulation and Acceleration of Convergence for a Dual Piston Pressure Swing Adsorption System
This paper presents a novel acceleration scheme which decreases at least tenfold the computational time for the simulation of cyclic adsorption processes. This enables the use of accurate simulations on an engineer’s desktop for the design and optimisation of more efficient adsorption-based separation processes. This work is a key outcome from both EP/F034520/1 and EP/I010939/1. The general adsorption cycle simulator, in which this scheme is implemented, is used in collaborations with UCL (EP/G062129/1, E.Fraga@ucl.ac.uk), and NCEPU China (kzhang@ncepu.edu.cn) and to analyse in-house experimental systems used by industrial partners in the Adsorption Research Industrial Consortium, e.g. Quantachrome (Matthias Thommes, email available).
