This paper reported the first ever full-scale test of a damaged reinforced concrete frame subjected to fire. The work was carried out at IIT Roorkee, India funded by a UKIERI collaborative project (SA07-59) led by Edinburgh. This led to the establishment of an extensive full-scale testing facility at IIT Roorkee (Pradipta Banerji, Director) which has attracted significant further funding from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) (Dr G.Rami Reddy) for more such tests with continued Edinburgh involvement.
