Additional information

A novel 'double pipe' adsorption bed that improves performance of a Pressure Swing Adsorption process by internal heat transfer was modelled and demonstrated for hydrogen separation. The work has led to two further projects: collaboration between the University of Edinburgh and Yonsei University, Korea, to develop a next-generation coal gasification plant that co-generates power and hydrogen (KETEP;2011-8510020030; £190k Edinburgh share); EPSRC project (EP/J018198/1; £125k) on CO2 vacuum swing adsorption integrated with a hydrogen plant.
