Additional information

This work has informed the review and development of UK building codes and design guidelines (TR55, Antony Darby, A.P.Darby@bath.ac.uk), Canada (CSA S806, CSA S808, Brahim.Benmokrane@usherbrooke.ca), and the USA (ACI 216, 216.1, 440.1, 440.2, Carol Shield, ckshield@umn.edu). An invited keynote lecture was delivered at the 2012 ACMBS-VI conference (Kingston, Canada) and related consultancy was undertaken for Magmatech (Ben Williams), Pultrall (Bernard Drouin) and BP Composites (Didier Hutchinson). It led to the development of a novel testing methodology as an alternative to time consuming and costly furnace testing and catalysed an EPSRC CASE studentship (Susan Deeny, Arup).
