Additional information

This internationally and industrially co-authored paper funded under MUSTANG (FP7/2007-2013:227286; total award €10.6M with €0.5M to Edinburgh) describes a method of extracting sub-grid information in finite element numerical models and develops its application for two-phase flow of supercritical CO2 in a brine-filled reservoir. This approach describes a new way of modelling transport of fluids in porous media other than standard volume -averaging approaches. This work has been further applied in: Spain, DoI:10.1007/s11242-012-0109-7; and Germany, DoI10.1016/j.matcom.2012.06.010, jesus.carrera.ramirez@gmail.com.
