Additional information

<22>This paper has made a major contribution to the field of automated university examination timetabling by rigorously analysing and critically appraising the wide and varied body of literature on examination timetabling that has appeared since 1996. It captured all the major approaches that appeared in the literature during the period it covers. It also introduced a new notation for benchmark instances to remove some of the confusion that had appeared in the literature . It has contributed towards the international research agenda by discussing important future research directions.
