<25>Contrasts a number of simple mechanisms that have been developed to explain social clustering, and demonstrates how they can be used to give structure in computational (P2P) networks. This is the first time the mechanisms under study have been directly compared, and the application to this domain is novel and significant. Has subsequently been used by others to underpin development of trust models in P2P networks, as well as to study more general models of group affiliation.
