Additional information

Fundamental work demonstrating the methods for producing metals in slurry form, a vital precursor to the manufacture of metal foams by a low cost route, which has been developed in-house, by the production of high quality metal foam parts. TSB funding has followed on from this work: MINOLA – manufacturing Metal foam – CFRP tools for aerospace tooling. The fundamental understanding of the slurry behaviour has led to work with Cathodic Protection, producing coated Ag electrodes, a process they are using for commercial production of reference electrodes.
