A new mathematical model for the LLC resonant converters is described offering significant improvements in prediction accuracy over previously presented work and is an output from EPSRC grant EP/C015924/1). Subsequently the outputs from this research have been embodied within power supply design software (LLC designer and LCC designer http://mpfoster.staff.shef.ac.uk/Rescon/home.php) which has been developed in association with Bang&Olufsen and Philips with over 450 registered users (including Bang&Olufsen, Diodes, Delta Electronics, Siemens, Renishaw, Philips, General Electric, NXP, Sagem, Malvern Instruments, TDK-Lambda, Cisco, Emerson ). Furthermore, research was factor in securing a KTP with Gripple Ltd developing a resonant wireless lighting system.
