Additional information

The results from this paper were central to the decision by Severn Trent Water to invest long term in the development of novel advanced oxidation processes for treatment of lowland water sources. As a consequence, Severn Trent Water are funding a project (Advanced Oxidation Processes: Implementation and Business Case Development; http://www.stream-idc.net/cohort5projects.php) with the objective to trial a pilot of an advanced oxidation treatment plant, aiming to build a full scale plant in AMP 7 (Asset Management Plan); Severn Trent contact: Julie Hart, Senior Process Engineer (Julie.hart@severntrent.co.uk).
