Additional information

International collaboration between Cranfield University and Zhejiang University. It proposes and compares techniques to reduce torque ripple in permanent magnet flux switching machines. The methods can also be employed for other conventional permanent magnet machines especially in automotive applications (Leon Rosario, Executive Engineer of Lotus Cars, email:lrosario@lotuscars.com). Research insights led to a new collaborative project from The National Basic Research Program of China Program (China 973) (Grant 2011CB707204, ~£1M). The results led to an invited keynote speech “Permanent magnet flux switching machines – topologies, analysis and optimization” in 4th International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives 13-17 May 2013.
