Additional information

Research established for the first time the impact of variable aeration delivery, in full scale wastewater treatment plants, on the overall carbon footprint associated with energy use and fugitive emissions. The research has been applied to inform investment decisions on treatment plant upgrades including aeration system design and aeration control strategies in Severn Trent for the next Asset Management Plan (AMP6) submission to the regulator (Ofwat). Contact: Peter Vale, Senior Strategist (peter.vale@severntrent.co.uk).
