Additional information

The SAFESA (SAFE Structural Analysis) work presented in this paper was carried out under the EU Framework Programme 6 project MUSCA (Project Reference 516115) 'Non-linear static multiscale analysis of large aero-structures'. Extending SAFESA to non-linear analysis supported the development of a virtual structural testing methodology for aerospace structures. It is a fundamental part of finite element training provided to students, the majority of whom go on to work in relevant industries, on several Cranfield courses.
