Additional information

This work resulted in invited presentations to the International Helicopter Safety Team, CHC Safety & Quality Summit and Shell Aircraft Safety Seminar. North Sea Helicopter operations involve a high degree of risk, highlighted through the loss of 5 aircraft since 2009. The cost of these accidents is large and greatly affects the ability of the customer (oil / gas producers) to operate offshore facilities. The effect of lost confidence in flying following accidents, predicted by this paper was confirmed following recent incidents.
