Additional information

This paper, in a leading neural engineering journal, provided the first evidence that microchannel nerve interfaces can be used to record and stimulate nerve signals in-vivo. It was shown that nerve fibres could be stimulated using smaller currents and better signal to noise ratios obtained than with competing devices. This work was funded by an EPSRC Basic Technology grant and was a collaboration with the University of Cambridge and King’s College London. It has led to two contracts from DSTL and to collaborations with University of Oxford and UCL and commercial interest from Touch Emas Ltd.
