Additional information

The novel seamless transmission system and its controller are significantly contributing to the adoption of multiple-speed drivetrains on the next generation of electric vehicles, with a significant change in the electric powertrain design procedures. For example, BMW (the electric vehicle design group, led by Dr. Patrick Mueller) and Porsche are going to test the two-speed transmission system presented in this paper on prototype electric vehicles. This publication led to Springer commissioning a text from the author.
