Additional information
The developments reported in this paper form part of a larger body of work to develop and evaluate cryptographic primitives and frameworks specifically aimed at resource constrained nodes, where processing, memory and energy resources maybe limited. The work was undertaken jointly by the authors whilst Adekunle was a PhD student supervised by Woodhead. The proposed TinyAEAD construct demonstrates performance improvements of between 50 and 70% when compared against the de-facto standards.
