Additional information

<09>This is the first work to provide a detailed formalisation of the necessary and sufficient conditions for monitoring and switching requirements for adaptive systems. These ideas have been adopted by the SEAMS (Software Engineering for Adaptive and Self-managing Systems) community and extended in different ways (e.g., http://dx.doi.org/10.1145/1808984.1808997, http://dx.doi.org/10.1109/SEAMS.2009.5069081). The technique is being applied in research projects on adaptive security and privacy, including the Adaptive Information Security project funded by the Qatar National Research Fund as well as the ERC Advanced Research Grant on adaptive security and privacy.
