Additional information

Processing difficulties and performance reductions brought about by the selected resin systems have limited their use to largely superficial structures. CBT offer the chance to process the composite in a similar way to thermosetting resin systems utilizing the chemistry of the reaction to reduced viscosity to a level where injection can take place at reasonable pressure. The work here examines and monitors the cure process thus providing data for production modelling and monitoring. This has led to £504k-MARINCOMP-Marie Curie-612531 and is at the centrepiece of a large 25 million euro renewables project (MaREI) based at NUI Galway.
