The work presented here was the product of an international collaboration between the University of Granada, Spain; Institute of Radiochemistry, Dresden, Germany and Kroto Research Institute, Sheffield, UK. This work revealed precipitation mechanisms that can be engineered for U biomining. It has led to a contract with the National Agency for Radioactive Waste Management of France (a.albrecht@andra.fr).
