Additional information

Our research on evolutionary computation to predict behaviour of masonry panels led to Zhou being appointed as professor in Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). This research received various grants from the Chinese Natural Science Foundation and the USA Federal Aviation Administration’s National Airport Pavement Test Facility to apply our research to predict Cracking Patterns of Concrete Airport Pavement. This enabled us to conduct physical tests on small scale masonry panels. The HIT and Plymouth groups introduced a number of evolutionary techniques to accurately predict the behaviour of masonry panels. Follow-on papers have been published in J.Comput.Civ.Eng.
