Additional information

This paper shows that the giant extraordinary Hall effect can be enhanced in Ru-mediated antiferromagnetically coupled multi-layers, compared with MLs without the Ru spacer. This is due to Co/Ru interface scattering. The results also challenge the physical meaning of conventional scaling law between the Hall voltage and the longitudinal resistivity in magnetic multilayers and granular films. The understanding of the materials created could have potential for application in magnetic biosensors with higher sensitivity, hence being of interest in communities developing sensors and those wishing to apply them.
