Additional information

Original research led to the demonstrated application of the Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm to search the complex and non-convex solution space of decision variables including renewable generation location, size and operating mode in the power system planning problem. Researchers in the leading power distribution and distributed resources planning groups (e.g. Edinburgh [Gareth.Harrison@ed.ac.uk], Leuven [Johan.Driesen@esat.kuleuven.be], Cagliari [Fabrizio Pilo, pilo@diee.unica.it], and Imperial College [Goran Strbac, g.strbac@imperial.ac.uk]) have followed on from this research and collaboration emerged with each, including an IEEE Transaction paper on methods to solve related problems [10.1109/TPWRS.2012.2214406].
