Additional information

This is an important paper in that it represents the first attempt to utilise games technology to teach a topic, in this case Introductory Programming, by creating an environment in which the players are expected to develop and utilise Computational Thinking (CT). The game is specifically designed to introduce CT concepts through the practice of solving tasks that are focused on the topic, and players are rewarded for developing solutions that display evidence of the application of these concepts. This paper has been selected for journal publication in an extended form by AACE.
