The paper reports on a technique for detection and location of damage in composites. Results of the work have contributed to an industrially funded relationship with MBDA (£11k) and a PhD co-sponsorship by Airbus (£21k). The technique has been applied to both defence and aerospace structures in the laboratory. This work was successfully applied as part of a recent TSB project that included Airbus and Boeing (£151k) and more recently a second successful TSB application with Airbus and BAe Systems (£143k) that will introduce damage detection technologies to civil aerospace structures.
