A comparative study of architecture knowledge management tools
<09> This paper presents a rigorous evaluation framework for architectural knowledge management (AKM) techniques. AKM is a research sub-discipline with many competing approaches; it has been historically very difficult for researchers to effectively compare techniques. This paper’s framework provides the first systematic and methodologically sound way to compare AKM technologies. The framework is applied to existing AKM techniques, thus evaluating the state-of-the-art, but the framework can also be used in future evaluations as AKM techniques evolve. The paper is highly cited. It maintains a strong connection with industrial practice by incorporating parts of the ISO/IEC 42010 standard in the framework.
