Additional information

<24> This paper unifies the control design for two types of widely used models, and solves two major design difficulties in the literature, i.e., nonaffine input and unknown control gain. This is a novel approach at the forefront of new research directions in unknown control gain problem (see citations by Chen, 2009; Li, 2011; Yu, 2011; Dai, 2012). The system transformation methods developed in the paper has been employed and extended in multiple domains, as in control design of hypersonic flight vehicles (Xu, 2011) and hard disk drives (Liu, 2012).
