<27> Research addressing the role of IT in BPR (Business Process Re-engineering) is relatively rare in the 21st Century. The paper attempts to bring together work in the disciplines of business process management and IT strategy. The model for improving the roles of IT in BPR projects was intended for use by academics and practitioners alike. This approach to IT and BPR is significant in its own right. The work has formed the basis of postgraduate teaching material and has influenced practice in healthcare in the U.K.
