Creep and creep modelling of a multimodal nickel-base superalloy
This work was a first attempt in predicting the creep response of nickel-based superalloys possessing multimodal particle dispersions. Outputs have been instrumental in new research programmes on location specific property predictions (£305,000) funded by Rolls-Royce, (contact Chief of Materials and Processing Modelling Capability). The work has also provided the basis for constitutive behaviour descriptions in a number of modelling activities within the £4.36M ERDF Centre for Advanced Simulation and Modelling for Manufacturing (CASiM2). The Centre will engage West Midlands SMEs in demonstrating the benefits of modelling to improve processes through development of numerical tools and training computational engineers.
