Additional information

This paper proposed a simple but accurate analytic model for performance evaluation in IEEE 802.15.4 networks and provided an effective tool for network planning and optimization. It led to us devising scalable analytical model for IEEE 802.15.4 slotted CSMA/CA networks (DOI:10.1109/T-WC.2009.080277). Since this work, the analytical tool was widely taken up for multiple access in IEEE 802.15 series networks by researchers of National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, University of Parma, Auckland University of Technology and Hongik University ( DOI:10.1109/JSAC.2009.091011, DOI:10.1016/j.peva.2009.08.011, DOI:10.1016/j.comcom.2010.12.004, DOI:10.1587/transfun.E93.A.1531). The model was also extended to examine the 802.15.4 capability for smart grid communication (DOI:10.1007/978-3-642-27210-3_11).
