Additional information

Eric Clarke and David Clarke collaborated equally on every aspect of editing this 20-chapter book. Together they conceived the volume, commissioned the content, worked intensively with contributors (taking every chapter through several iterations), organised the overall structure and sequence, authored the Introduction, and compiled a detailed index. Additionally, David Clarke authored his own chapter, ‘Music, Phenomenology, Time Consciousness’, and co-authored another, ‘North Indian Classical Music and its Links with Consciousness’, with Tara Kini. In the latter David Clarke undertook much of the contextual research to illuminate and theorise Kini’s ethnographic materials on Dhrupad, and wrote most of the text.
