<20> Although there has been significant interest in developing Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) for entertainment applications, including computer games, a major challenge is to actually capture user experience in a meaningful way. In this paper, we describe an experiment in which BCI is used to drive an interactive narrative using the concept of empathy as a unifying framework. The experiments, conducted at Tel Aviv Functional Brain Centre, have been based on simultaneous EEG-fMRI recordings to provide a brain imaging validation of selective asymmetry in the pre-frontal cortex during BCI feedback. The acceptance rate at IJCAI 2013 was 13% for oral presentation.
