Significance of output:

<11>First paper to address the question as to what extent the adoption of a decay factor for reputation reports helps prediction systems react promptly to dynamic principal behaviours. It illustrates the conditions under which decay is a good approach to trust models for principals whose behaviour depends on an internal state; but proves that in general this is not enough and more sophisticated dynamic models are required for a satisfactory solution. The approach is both analytical (via mathematical models and proofs) and experimental (via simulations).
