Additional information

The significance of this paper is the very large-scale evaluation with more than 400 participants in Seville-Spain (outdoors) and Oslo airport-Norway (indoors). Moreover, real travellers in real situations and contexts were used. This work has since been incorporated in the Smart Cities and TURAS (urban resilience and sustainability) initiatives in Seville (Contact: Innovation & Internationalization, Sevilla Global / Corporation of Municipal Enterprises). An ambient, and context sensitive information system for mobile users (travelers) was developed. The iterative hybrid evaluation method, mixing traditional information retrieval with human computer interaction methods, was considered a unique contribution to the field (feedback from Editors).
